About Northeast Airlines
Boston-Maine Airways officially changed its name to Northeast Airlines in 1940 after 11 years of operation. Shortly thereafter, Northeast was the first airline to ferry military troops across the Atlantic on contract with the government during WWII.
Northeast merged into Delta Airlines in 1972.
